when to switch to a pro gear ?
I think I already know the answer to this but , when do people switch to a pro gear ? if the street gear fails will it just strip teeth off ring gear or more damage ?

IMO at that weight & that power range with a T-brake using a Pro Gear is definitely a better idea than a street gear.

thanks, that is what I am hearing. does the 28 spline pinion fail or do they usually strip the teeth off the gear? 8.8 rears are only available with 28 spline pinion gears

Don't know about the 8.8 but I have seen the 12 bolt stuff knock the teeth off street gears.
