Drag Week Pump Gas 598
The engine build for my truck is nearing completion. This is my first Big Block after years of nitrous windsor stuff. ZSR Engines has done a great job on this and has made the transition really nice. Going to try and make some good power NA on pump gas. Anyone care to take a shot out what it will make at the flywheel? Should be going to the dyno in the next few weeks.
598 (4.600 bore x 4.500 stroke, 6.7 rod)
11:1 compression (will be ran on 93 pump gas)
Heads are Trickflow 360cc A460 heads (OTB ports, different springs)
Intake is an OTB Trickflow R
Cam is a solid roller (.770 lift)
Carb is a 1050 4500 from PRC.
Will be turned 6500-6700.

Re: Drag Week Pump Gas 598
Carb was sized for it being a little more friendly cruising. Steve at PRC thought a 2 circuit "1050" would support the engine and have great response.

Good deal. I am also signed up for Drag week this year. If you have not done it before it is a lot of work and a lot of fun. I see ZSR is helping you out. Where are you located? I am around Troy, MO, not too BBF guys around Drag week. I will continue to watch for updates.

Re: Drag Week Pump Gas 598
I am located in Central Arkansas, about 2 hours west of Memphis and an hour south of Little Rock. ZSR is about 6 hours north of me, but Zach been great to deal with. Originally we were building a turbo windsor deal for the truck and for the end goal of this deal the Big Block just made more sense so the small block stuff was sold off and the 598 started back months ago. I have only watched but I plan to take this deal out in 2020 as 2019/2020 will be finishing the work and testing. Really hoping to take this heavy old truck into the low 10's.

900 hp is only 1.5/ci It should do that and run in the 10s with ease. Zach knows his stuff

He has been awesome to deal with. I took a few liberties in requesting steel rockers, bushing style lifters, and I requested that the cam be kept pretty tame just to play it on the safe side. Goal is to drive roughly 4,000 miles a year including the events and not need much maintenance. Set it on a 2 season freshening is what I am hoping. Truck should weigh in at roughly 4100 lbs.

Zach set the heads up, and I believe he went with a double spring. If he set them up with triples then my intention is to try them, but I believe they are set up as doubles.

I see. You said heads were OTB. OTB is triple.
Re: Drag Week Pump Gas 598
My apologies Lem, I meant the ports were untouched. Trans is TH400. Aluminum drum, 36 element promod sprag, all trick pieces minus aftermarket case. Wayne what vehicle was that motor in? Care to share more details on the whole combo?

Triples are on the 360 cnc. . PAC1224 on the 340cc units for several years.
Re: Drag Week Pump Gas 598
After checking in, these have been changed to a double spring set up. Pac 1300 Series.

Re: Drag Week Pump Gas 598
Do the Trick Flow heads require a special block? Which engine block did you use?
Thank you and have a most awesome afternoon!

Nope. They bolt straight on a stock or aftermarket block.
