2in drop spindle and ride height
Hello all members and visitors. I'm still tugging at my same build. Been having some fun and Its getting better and better. I installed a set of 2 inch drop spindles and had to spin the springs sky high to get the fender off the tire and doing that about pulled all the shift out of the shock. The springs are 200 lb. Is anybody here using 250's? Thanks for any and all response.

Its a bbf alum headed fox drag car. Strange doubles adj front and rear.
Had to spin the spring up about 5 or 6 inches just to get the fender off the tire and only have about 2 in h of strut shift travel left.

Is this a new build? Did someone suggest a 200lb spring? Why not a taller 200lb spring if that's supposed to be the right spring rate for you're combo?

Re: 2in drop spindle and ride height
I had the sn95 spindles installed and bought the strange front brake kit. And since I bought that brake kit I had to go back to the OE style spindle /bearing which is what the kit call for. I went with the 2 inch drop spindle and it lowered the front tremendously with the 200s.

So you’re using a 14” 200lb spring on the coil overs?

Re: 2in drop spindle and ride height
Having the right or wrong strut spring rate has little effect on how much strut shaft is actually in/out of the strut body if the main ride height adjustment tools are (a) the drop spindle and (b) the adjustable/spinner spring seat on the strut body.
If the "set-in-stone" desired ride height you want (fender vs tire) with drop spindles has too much strut shaft out of the strut body (little/no extension before "topping-out" the strut) then you have to put the regular spindles back on the car. Or live with a lower ride height

Re: 2in drop spindle and ride height
Very well understood. I may have goofed putting the drop spindles on. With them installed I don't like how much the 200s has to be spinned up just to get the fender from touching g the tire. They're from 14 to 8 or 9 inch. I guess since I got some 250s I'm gonna put them on and hopefully they want have to be squished so much.
Thanks

Re: 2in drop spindle and ride height
14-175 springs worked well on my 2" drop spindles on my Fox. Mine is backhalved with a 32x14 and a 4 link so that big tire may crutch some problems I haven't found yet. Still 60'd in the 1.31 range leaving soft...
