Blue thunder caps dove block align boring question
I machined the block for the caps on my Bridgeport and caps fit good and tight like they should . My question is I have a ton of material to be removed for align boring . The caps are slightly offset and I know are fine due to being align bored but is this normal with aftermarket caps ? I have a feeling who ever align bores it this will not be fun .
Thanks
Andy

I bought a set of used FMS caps and the front and rear caps are offset .030 to ALL of the three blocks I tried them on. All the exact same amount! Sounds like you have a similar situation.

That doesn't make much of a difference. It's an interrupted cut anyway. You just have to take your time and go slow.
