has anyone built a 665" 11.2" DH NA before?

Pro/Cons?

I have built a 712 with an 11.2 deck height but, never a 665.

I am certain that others here have built engines similar to this, also.

It would be difficult building a "pressurized" engine like that with only a 1.1" compression distance.
Using a 5" stroke versus a 5.3" inch stoke uses whatever custom rod length fits.
(However, an NA engine with that compression height would be relatively easy).

At a 1.1" compression height, there is no room for a big dish in the piston.
Don't have worries about the rod/stroke ratio.

I have no idea how you formed that conclusion from what I said here ... A low compression or "Boosted" engine is probably not a probable option unless the cylinder head has a really "large" combustion chamber.

It seems that comprehension is your issue.
A high compression racing engine like that is done often.

I was telling about possibilities; sorry you were unable to differentiate the differences.

I am done here ... you can go on your merry way wherever you please.

what does a boosted scenario have to do with my original question?

is this not somewhere to ask questions to learn?

your responses had nothing to do with my question...

BTW your "teachings" suck sir....

I’ve never personally built a 665 but have see a couple over the years in 11.2 deck blocks

Yes they are viable and doable.

your best bet is to call kaase.they build these everyday.and theres plenty of the 820 ci racing,so its been done many times.712 would be 4.625 bore,5.3 stroke and with a 7.2 rod you would have a 1.358 rod to stroke ratio.piston would be 1.350 comp height.plenty good for a ring stack.what heads are you going to use?what is the application for the engine?

I'd be wary of where I went to "learn things"....
Although site is slower most days now, we have on this site some
very smart people who have been doing a LONG time..
And I'm not just talking grocery car engines, but HIGH end race motors...
Some have entered ( and won) Engine Masters multiple times..
What better place can you get your "information to learn ?"

I did receive your complaint. I have also re -read this thread several times and i just don't see it. Randy I can assure you is very smart on the subject but , sometimes can be "crass" in his responses ... and we all love him due to his expertise in these engines. Just take a deep breathe and maybe ask the question in another way ...... lots to learn brother !!

WHY THE 665CI, I have done 632s to 680s in an 11.2 blk, Working on 680ci right now.

What head are you going to use? Intake ect, and what are you expecting out of the eng? ET? POWER? ETC. Is there a certain rpm band your trying to run?

A 665 with a 5'' arm is a DRY SUMP only deal in an 11.2
