104/114 are the lobe centerlines, so 104 IS the ICL. Looks like 109 would be the actual LSA.supervel45 wrote:You peaked my interest on that Crane you have. The old Lunati Cam Card Library is gone, I guess Holley Scraped it. I wanted to see what Crane had Left on the Electric paper for anything.
Your Cam is on actual page 256. F-246/3294-2-8

The Lobes are on actual page 17 under F1 as F-246 and F-256.

I would hang onto that cam.
Great deal on your headers.
Looks like they doubled the price on the Super Comps since I bought a set but, it's been a long time. Glad I found a deal on my Sandersen CJ port shortys when I did.
And guess what, I FOUND THE LIFTERS! I numbered them and which bank they came out of. I'm going to run this cam.

That's cool. I think I would try that Performer RPM and see how she goes. If you had the hood clearance I think I would go for a Victor and a 1050 2 circuit Dominator.
I'm not sure on that 104 and 114 bit. Every lobe in that catalog was 104 and 114. I would find out for sure if you don't have the cam card.

Agreed that the LSA should be 110.
Hopefully Stan up in Washington state is still doing business; I haven't checked in a while.
Is this engine going in what looks like a Cougar in your Avatar? If so the Hooker 6126 IIRC might fit, they worked in my LTDII i had that had a 460 in it!!
My LTDII was a 1978 pretty much the same body as the Cougar that year!!I did have to dent some of the tubes but they fit but the Summit Racing Site says they wouldn't!!Summit Racing Part Number for the Hooker Headers is HOK-6126HKR $but wow $779.95 for them but says they won't fit your car?Summit Racing does show a Hedman Header Part #HED-85200 that says it fits a 74 Mercury Cougar with a 429-460 and they're cheaper than the Hookers at $626.99!!

I think the extra money spent on the Hooker's is worth it Mark as long as they fit without too much 3lb hammer modification. They have 1 7/8" tubes versus the Hedman's
1 3/4". They are still on a 3" collector though.
The biggest turnoff to the strokers for me has been that no one makes 2" or larger headers for most passenger cars and the selection is not that great for trucks, unless you like the fenderwell style. Those Hooker's are likely his best bet and should work OK on his mild combo.

If he ever does get some decent heads and a roller cam, it will be a choke point though. Below is an old thread where someone corked up a nice 532 P-51 build with 1 3/4" headers covering part of the exhaust port.
https://www.460ford.com/threads/532-dyno-disappointment-yesterday.126790/
I came across a deal and bought some nice laser cut 3/8" CJ flanges with the thought of one day stubbing them out with 2" or 2 1/8" into the factory 1 7/8" header pipes or using them to build a set of full length headers. May or may not work but it sure seems like it would help a SCJ or P-51 head somewhat? More then likely at that stage you might as well fork out the cash on a custom set for best results.

Re: Cam Specs. Approve or no?
These are the ones that Google shows for a 1974 Cougar.
I would double triple check though. At least they are cheaper and in stock at Summit.

Too Bad you don't have CJ ports. #6201 fit 429CJ with 2 1/8" tubes.
Maybe They might.

Does not look like much difference in a 1973 and 1974 model looking at pictures of them?
I'm like Mark on the Fitting. Hopefully you can cancel it if you made it before it ships, if you ordered already, if you change your mind?

Re: Cam Specs. Approve or no?
'73 and '74 are completely different. The '73 is a unibody car, the '74 is a full frame car.

Re: Cam Specs. Approve or no?
I see now they went to the bigger bodies in 1974. Is it like the 1976 Torino?
Here's some pictures of the Crites 2" headers on a 460 in one. Hopefully the Hookers are off the steering gear box if your's is like this?
This pictures are about 3/4 of the way down the page in the link.
https://forum.grantorinosport.org/crites-460-headers_topic12259.html
After all that the poor guy ended up denting the tube. Pages 21 and 22 for the pictures.
