BBF exhaust port header extensions…
Just watched a YouTube video with a 600 & something ci BBF with some kind of port extension spacing the header out 1.5” or so. Anyone have any experience with this?

I’m guessing it’s a custom adapter to fit a BBC header. Would straightening the exhaust flow another 1.5” coming out of the port have a performance gain?

It looks like it's purpose is to clear the bellhousing or other components in a tight chassis

Might be, a stick shift bell-housing is considerably larger in diameter than an automatic; flywheel, too.
