Freeze plug question
What size are the freeze plugs for the factory production block?
How many of the threaded plugs withe the hex head should be in the kit? There are five in the kit I got. Where do the two that are pointed at the back go?

If you are going to tap them for pipe plugs, they are as Lem stated, 1.25 NPT. They may measure 1 1/2", but that isn't pipe thread sizing.

Re: Freeze plug question
ALL Ford engines of the era use 1-1/2" freeze plugs.OldRedFord wrote:What size are the freeze plugs for the factory production block?
The number of oil gallery plugs depends on the size of plug we re talking about.OldRedFord wrote:How many of the threaded plugs withe the hex head should be in the kit? There are five in the kit I got. Where do the two that are pointed at the back go?
