Anyone seen or used Laser Structuring in their cylinder walls? Heard "some" Pro-Stock guys are using it, and none where FORDS. Pretty neat process, I was told that "they may not see the difference down low but top end pull tells the story"

I've heard of that technology but I don't know anyone personally who's using it but it sounds expensive.

I can find out, I was at Gehring for two days last week during a machine run off. It will be later next week but I will find out what condition the block needs to be when it is sent to them. I believe they will hone it to your spec's after the laser process is done. I couldn't drag any more info from them on who was using it, just that "Pro Stock boys don't what you to know". You would think for a 1.5 Million $ Honing machine they would tell me something lol!

For that kind of money you would think so. Thanks for sharing regardless. I'd never heard of it before.

I wonder how the round holes or square holes in the cylinder walls make a differance? That is if that's what they are talking about.

Or maybe they won't tell you who's using the process because nobody does, you never know....

Sounds interesting, wonder how much it cost. Are the holes just to hold the oil?
