Streetability: Horsepower & Torque
"Would this cam (Solid Roller 273/280 Degrees @ 0.050 Lift, Valve Lift 0.787/.791 109 Degrees of Lobe seperation) if used in 552 CID be too unstreetable?< (+.060 overbore+4.5 Inch Crank) with 12-13:1 CR, either 1050 E-85 single 4 Victor or Twin 850's on a Weiand Tunnel ram, Ported Ford Aluminum SCJ heads>
Assume Fiberglass '48-'52 Anglia Pro-Street (2600-2900 LBS), E4OD tranny, 9 inch rear (4.33 or 4.71 rear gear), 30-13.5X15 ET Streets or 31-16.5X15 Hoosier Quick Times Pro.
Usage 15-60 miles round trip to Car Shows/Cruise Ins/ Drag Races."
I know it is possible to have Too Much Cam, HP & TQ there is a point of diminishing returns.
The above cam came from PHR mags build up of a Pump Gas 532 CID Fox Mustang it made 775 HP.
I figured the above combo as a 552 would make even more HP & TQ.
PHR used a 260/268 @ 0.50,0.726/0.726 inch Lift 108 Degrees Lobe Seperation in their 532 to make 728 HP & 679 TQ.
Would this cam in a 12-13:1 CR 528 CID( +.060 overbore +4.30 Forged Crank) or 513 CID (+.080 overbore +4.14 Forged Crank) lose alot to the 552 or PHR's 532 combo
Would this combo be much more docile at the Line & on the Street
What have 'Ya'll seen

Re: Streetability: Horsepower & Torque
I think not , now what I am judging it off of is mine is just a little bigger and I tried to drive the car down to the weight scales and I didn't like Idling so I gave it a little gas and the car wanted to go sideways in the blink of an eye... not very fun driving like that..... and my car was #3200 Fox Mine has 760 ft torque and it is at bay any time and place....

Ouch !
Your car weighs 3200 LBs VS my projected 2600-2900.
Maybe 528 CID is too big of a CID in a 91 inch wheel base with less than 3K Lbs
Maybe the 477( +.80 overbore stock 3.85 stroke crank) or 509( +.060 overbore 4.15 stroker crank) CID idea is better with this cam & 12-13:1 CR.
PHR lost 47 HP but gained 6 LB ft of TQ with that cam.
What is the point of no return

Re: Streetability: Horsepower & Torque
no such thing as "to big" motor...............
the larger the CID, the more calm that cam will ACT, the smaller the CID, the more HIGH STRUNG it will act
IMO cubic inches always a plus on anything on the street

Bigger Is Better!

Wonder what this would do at the wheels 528 CID (+.060 overbore,+4.30 forged crank, forged 6.8 inch rods) or 547 (+.040 overbore,+4.50 forged crank, forged 6.8 inch rods) twin 850 E-85 carbs, Weiand Tunnel Ram, Ported Ford Aluminum SCJ Heads, this cam and 12-13:1 CR .
I know the consensus is Tunnel Rams don't make as much HP or TQ as a great "New School" Single 4 Single Plane or they are a PITA to tune.
But the Shotgun Bill Scoop on a Tunnel Ram is just Bit~$^ You can't divorce form from function.
