fox body door panel weight

Does anyone know the weight of the factory door panels on an 88 Mustang? I have never had the doors apart on the car to see.

We want to shed a little weight so we can move weight around where we need it. I know we are taking the door bars out but I don't want to cut up the door too much because I am keeping the electric windows. There is not much cooler than lining up against a "race car" with lexan windows and fiberglass body with two or three people helping and rolling up my windows with a button checking my mirrors and then spanking that a$$.

We have to weight 3250lbs most of the type but some races that we have this year has no minimum weight. We currently have to add weight but I still want more out.

Last year we had to add close to 400lbs of ballast. (I know that is against NHRA rules) but with the turbo stuff this year we weight a little more.

I can pull mine off real quick and weight them for you

That would be cool. I just heard they were like 10 lbs but I find that hard to believe. But really I have no clue.

Is it a street car or strip? If its a stip car cut the door bar out. Here are a few pics of the weight saved on that. Hope this helps

Was that weight savings door bar and door panel only? If not how much more did you strip?

That was just the door bar the pannel was on the back side of the door in the pic.
