460 Question
Hi all this is my first post here and I was referred to this site from Fordmuscle.com. I have a chance to pick up a D1VE 460 block that has C9VE rods and a set of D3VE heads. It is a complete motor along with the accesories and all could use either a clean up or a full rebuild. I am able to pick it up for $200 and was wondering if it's worth it? I had someone tell me the D0VE block was the only block to get but I doubt that is true in my application. I am planning a build for my 75 Torino ex drag car that I just dropped a 302 into for this summer to cruise and show. I am planning some aftermarket heads so the heads dont matter. Meanwhile I want to slowly work on this 460 to get a nice streetable build and just want to know if I should look at a different year like a 95 or so 460 instead? I will get into the build questions once I have a block to start with. Thanks.

Re: 460 Question
That block will be fine, there are small differences through the years, but all have strengths and weaknesses.
Any will hold 800 hp, probably more.

Nice!
A whole motor for $200 that may be the deal of the century.
