Operation Mustang Bash Thrash
I am back from Iraq and I am in the process of getting ready for the Bash.
When I was gone my good friend Blake picked up a 1987 Mustang Coup for me. I had several other fox chassis but the Mustang is the smarter way to go. Blake said he is going help me with the engine, but right now he is coverd up with work.
I have many of the pieces to get this car together.
I will document my progress, my goals, and my build specs.
The first step is to get the rear suspension in the car.
I bought an 8.8 from Keith Sherry shortly after the first bash. It has a girdle, spool, moser 28 spline c clip eliminator axles.
For launch I got a super deal on UPR upper and lowers from Derek Johnson at Bluegrass Performance Parts, as well as an anti-roll bar.
I also have a set of competition engineering 50-50 drag shocks.
The next step will be the cage and chassis.
Then Blake and I will get on the engine.
Any ideas on my build are more than welcome.
I will post some pics as soon as I figure out how.

Re: Operation Mustang Bash Thrash
Thanks guys, I look forward to seeing y'all.
Yesterday I got the rear end in with the upper and lower and lower control arms and the shocks hung.
I have a few decisions to make as far as the engine goes. I want to have it running asap.
I have a problem, I don't know how much stall the torque converter that I have for my C-6 will give me. The engine that I want for the car will be a 12 to 1 eagle rodded 466 with P-51's and a good sized roller, victor and a dominator or flying toilet. This will require a good converter.
I have my boat motor. It is a 9.5 to 1, 466 with C9 home ported heads with a 255-265 solid cam and a stealth and an 830.
What do you guys think?

Build the motor how you like it and don't worry about the convertor yet. Many companies will adjust it as needed to make it work well for you combo. For not much money either.

I would just throw the boat motor in, and come to the bash, take your time on the build for the car, and get it the way you want it. jmo., and thanks for the time in iraq, you are a man.

Re: Operation Mustang Bash Thrash
OK, I just got back from visiting Family down in Florida and I need to get back on the car.
I picked up an 8 point roll bar from Bruce Sherry when I was down there, thanks.
I also purchased som steel to make frame conectors.
I know that the front and rear sub frames don't exactly line up. Are you guys cutting a diagnal slot in the floor to line up the two frames?
Or are you Zig in the frame conector to line them up or what?
3 weeks, I need to haul ass.
