i talked to oliver when i was getting ready to order mine- your supose to check for stretch on bolts and if in dought replace for $400 dollars its not worth it not to just my opinion
Re: oliver rod bolts
If you dont have the original length, it is just a guess.

dam,400$ bolts...........that makes a new set of rods look like a better deal.badnotch wrote:i talked to oliver when i was getting ready to order mine- your supose to check for stretch on bolts and if in dought replace for $400 dollars its not worth it not to just my opinion

Re: oliver rod bolts
i dont know what they cost, just thinken 400$for bolts makes a 1200$ set of rods look like a better deal.they'd probly cost more with the bolts your talken about.badnotch wrote:thats what them l-19 bolts cost - maybe cheaper from someone you know

Re: oliver rod bolts
If the bolts are not over tq'ed they will last a long time. The standard bolts that I've seen have WSB on the head...they are made by ARP. There are 2 or 3 bolt upgrades available. L-19 bolts are not available in these rods.
Re: oliver rod bolts
lem arnt the L-19 bolts the best you can buy ? why dont they offer them in the olivers ?

Like Fabio said...issues with moister/hydrogen embrittlement.badnotch wrote:lem arnt the L-19 bolts the best you can buy ? why dont they offer them in the olivers ?
L19 is not a super high dollar bolt.....new rods from Eagle can be had with the 2000 or L19 for the same $s.
The superman bolts [260,000 psi].....Custom Age 625 Plus and ARP 3.5 are the ones that cost $500 or $700 for replacement bolts.
Re: oliver rod bolts
i know the bolt's can be upgraded but at what point is it overkill?these have been fine for 75-7800rpm.it's not a 2500hp deal so id think what came in the rods would work fine, they have been anyway.thanks
