Not sure exactly what you mean...
If you are talking about the "B" bars in the rule book....yes, you need to have them.

Re: question for somebody who knows.
rules says A new NHRA safety rule change for 1995 states that cars running between 10.00 and 10.99 must have a rollcage unless the car has an unaltered firewall, floorpan and body (except for wheeltubs). This means if you have a street car with a stock floorpan and firewall but have tubbed it for bigger tires, all you need is a five-point rollbar until the car runs quicker than 10.00. Of course, a rollcage is perfectly acceptable if you wish to install one. i did not want to cut holes in my truck for roll bar/cage, i wanted to do a .134 walled round tube roll bar in back of truck only but now i see if i want to run that fast i will need at least a 5 point cage so gonna have to cut holes in back for bars to go threw n at least one bar running forward past my shoulder, i think im clear on what i need to do now, i think
thanks Erv.

I've seen some very nice cages done were only the glass was cut or lexan was installed. I am thinking of one truck in particular that had the factory glass but has cut out room for the bars to go through and has some rubber pieces made that fill the gaps. Looks good. I don't have any pics and the truck is now a full tube deal.

Re: question for somebody who knows.
If you fun no faster than a 7.70 in the 1/8 mile i don't think you would need one. That would equal about a 12.00 in the 1/4 mile. And i think 11.99 in the 1/4 mile and faster at a NHRA track you need a roll bar so i think a 7.70 or slower in the 1/8 mile would be okay IMO.

Is the truck still a stock chassis with original floor pans and glass?

I believe this is correct. Although, even though I was in the same category, I felt the need to install the cage anyway. For safety's sake. As far as I'm concerned, in this sport, one can NEVER be too safe.

Re: question for somebody who knows.
The SFI 25.5 book does have a reference to the rear support bars (& their OD & wall thickness) being required where the SFI books 25.1E, 25.2, & 25.4 don't. But then 25.5 is more toward OEM frame/uni-body, back-half & mini-tubed type cars with some amount of factory firewall/floor sections anyway. And 25.5 also dictates rear frame materials too where the SFI 25.1E/25.2/25.4 does not.

No problem the rust makes it a little lighter works to your advantage for going faster.
