so my cleveo heads seem good....
so looking at my cleveland heads i noticed some odd items.
First both intake and exhaust ports are smoothed. Intake slightly rougher with the valves machined for single grove locks. exhaust valves are very lightweight. also complete with studs and guide-plates. Valve job doesn't look like your ordinary rebuild either. Also been milled .010 (said it on the machine shop paper that came with the heads as well as being magged and checked for cracks). chambers are already polished as well.
Im thinking i got some ported over 4v closed chamber heads. going to get them flowed soon.
something tells me i may need to start thinking about what to do with 550 575 horsepower

550/570 HP 351C , only stock parts will be -- crank, block , heads . the rest of the power train will have to be a perfect match to the engine .

So what your saying is. It will be like every other engine talked about on this board except smaller.

right , but less forgiving if somethings a little off. a 550HP 460 has less hp per cube than a 351 at 550HP ,must be more on the mark. ever build a Cleveland ? real easy to build a dog

Dont forget about stroking the motor, gotta love those little surprises you find in storage
Its only my 3rd cleveland. Never with 4v closed chamber heads though, should be fun!
In my opinion if your building a cleveland 4v for any kind of street performance duty some things must be done, oiling mods, cooling system upgrades, custom roller cam, and a radical increase in stroke to make more twist down low, bigger carb, just the basics

yup left that part out.
Still hacking away at the big block for now. Scored a set of flat tops for it not to long ago.

Yep, built many. The last factory 2v headed 400ci cleveland that I built made over 600 hp on the engine dyno but like you said it was a perfect combo. On a class limited 200 shot in a 3100lb car it has been a best of 5.98 with a glide. We still have a guy running one of our bracket motors that runs 10.20's in a Fairlane. It was a 4v deal with a flat tappet cam. Stock crank and eagle rods and he drops the clutch a 6000rpm on his top loader.
Maddmattmustangs is building a big block but has cleveland stuff laying around so he is building it to get by. I don't have a big block either but am on this site to gather info for my big block build.
