Well I know a gut who has a truck just like mine. 67 F100 longbed with all steel wheels and nothing done to lighten it. Plus its a 521 with a total weight of 3700. So I'm going to guess yours is 2795. I'm not sure.

How About 3550# with you in it?
Dang Dave! Not even with you AND Big Chuck.
OK guys. Here it is! After pulling out the passenger seat, belts, and a few other "small" mods, the final talley, in running trim, is 2815 lbs. without me in it. That makes it 2997 lbs with me in it. Like I said, I'm happy with the results.
You should have seen the look on the guy's face that weighed it. He picked up the slip, and walked to the door and looked outside, looked back at the slip, and said, "That's a full sized Ford truck, ain't it?"

That's funny!! You should pick up a fair bit of time with the lbs loss!! And it came off the front too, which is very good!!

I got it right! So what prize do I get? A new balancer, timing cover, valve springs, and ford racing valve covers? That's what I need right now!bb429power wrote:Well I know a gut who has a truck just like mine. 67 F100 longbed with all steel wheels and nothing done to lighten it. Won a bet or not I'd still not put it on the car.................if you must put it upside down so the message is clear.....................one might mistake you for having a Chevy under the hood.

Thanks Russ. Last year, the truck weighed 3220 lbs. with me in it. I found out yesterday that my kid was messin' with my scale in the garage, and my initial "final talley was off by 17 lbs. (I noticed this when I jumped on to check my weight and there's no way I weighed 199 lbs.) So, after re-calibrating the scale it actually comes in at 2997 lbs. with me in it. Still can't complain about that though.

Thanks to you too Rick. You and several others have given me a ton of moral support and inspiration. Not to mention, all the nay sayers here that said it can't be made that light. Yes, I have thought about doing this stuff in the garage. I've had a few offers as well, so all I need is someone to bring me their junk.

Re: Just got back from the scale. Guess what it weighs.....?
What are you talking about? I love your truck, I was planning on building an 86 f100 or something close to that for a drag truck (before I saw yours, I don't want to copy you though). You gotta love the ford trucks, I've got a 67 f100 that you'll see on here finished soon. But man there is no way in heck that your truck is that light, holy crap you must have cut everything off of it! I'll have to use your quote when I take her racing, don't be a hater.......ThndrChkn wrote:bb429power wrote:I got it right! So what prize do I get?
