DYNO RESULTS

This is a copy of an E-mail sent to me from the Plymouth Mi AVL DYNO finicality. Testing one of our engines

Just wanted to let you know that a chassis cert engine is putting the hurt on the same style dyno that a Cummins and duramax have yet to overwork. In fact the “suspect” dyno was swapped for a similar replacement and that one had to pit. These particular AFA 460 dynos are rated for 1000nm max and the engine usually generates between 960 and 980 NM



At this point we have to install a larger dyno for the chassis cert engine.


That said, She’s real fine my 409 Ford!

Wait, were you in Plymouth? You couldn't have stopped by, I'm just down the street from Roush's warehouse? Just kidding, when is this place at and do they have a website? I know Phil Harper Motorspots or "Scorpion" which are both the same place, have an engine dyno. So does Flow Technologies but I think they closed shop. I live right by both, I am surrounded by high performance shops. Makes me happy.

they rate dyno's by newtonmeters?

AVL, is a German company,
They do rate their dyno in NM.. not HP.

They are not a Ford company, AVL will test anything, from Dodge to Ford. Like the E-mail said, the Cummins and Dura-max did nothing to their Dyno's. Once AVL tested our 6.7L diesel it broke their Dyno...

Yes Ford has their own Dyno's, but when the 6.7L was launched the Dyno's the 6.7L were on at Ford now have 5.0L-twin turbo, and 6.2L-twin turbo on them... On going development testing needs to be, and AVL does a ton of testing for injectors, after-treatment, fead, shift points, over temp, over fuel, etc... Thus our engines become work-horses! GO FORD!!

So do they rate it at: "Dunno, it broke the dyno..." That would look good in the brochure!!
