Well, my brother Dan (429 Powered 84) sold his engine to a guy in Canada for his mud truck. I helped my brother build it here in my garage, and I did a StageII port job on the FRPP SCJ's that he had. The guy just texted Dan & told him their initial results from today.

Here's the specs:

D1VE 2-Bolt block

Eagle 4.300 cast crank and H-Beam Rods

Probe Flat Tops

Kaase Oil Pump

FRPP SCJ Heads, Ported by me. And decked to 68cc. For right around 14:1 C/R.

Custom Ground Camshaft from Delta Cams in Tacoma, Washington. (Via The Mad Porter) Spec'd by me.

Victor 4500 Intake with minor massaging in the plenum around the runner openings.

Jim Evans 1050 Dominator

The engine made 780 HP & 702 Lb/Ft Tq.

They said with some tuning, they can pull 800+ HP pretty easy. They said there's video, so when I get it/them, I'll post it/them up. Very Happy

Just thought we'd share.

Thanks to those that helped me to be able to help others. Wink

Respectable numbers for sure.

Is the new owner also a mud racer? Or will he be putting it in a car for drag?

The guy that bought it is a mud racer, yes. I helped my brother with it so he could put it in his Foxbody for a drag app.

Ya this guy posted on the OTHER site that He and his dad were looking for a new engine and a BIGGER engine for there mud racer and what did anyone have? I sent a reply and offered up my 521 that just happened to be sittin my brothers GeRAGE niot doin anything and after a couple emails and some pic's sent to them phone call after phone call we finally put a deal togehter and then there was the shipping to a place WAY UP NORTH in Canada called High Level Alberta!!!! WOW! this place is 450 North of Edmonton Ab. They didn't even sweat the price that I threw out to them. I could not get it shipped clear up to them so he made the trip to the Sweetgrass Boarder Crossing to pick it up. He has been in pretty close contact with me every since he picked it up and when he called me and said that they were going to take it back to Edmonton and Dyno it I got excited! Just to see what it was going to really make for power, We thought maybe 700/710 hp but had no idea it would go that far! I do want to thank all the guy's who helped me out rounding up all the parts and pieces to put my engine together, Doug, Steve Skinner and all though I did not get to use it I am glad to see it is still going to be used to put them Chebies on the trailer. They are going from a 030 429 to this and I told them to HANG ON!!!!

Thanks
Dan

Twisted Evil OH YEA I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION ALREADY GOT A BIGGER ONE IN THE WORKS Twisted Evil ! THANKS BLAKE AND A FEW OTHERS, STILL GETTIN PARTS TOGETHER! BUT IT'S GONNA BE A GOOD ONE Twisted Evil!

Damn, what was the distance for them to drive to boarder? 650-700 miles?

That is someone who had a serious hard-on to take out some local Chevy trash in the boggs. Twisted Evil

The young fella's name is Clint and I had a few talks with him about engines and told him you Montana boys were honest as I have bought quite a few parts from and been at Dougs place. They drove 14-15 hours one way to pick up the engine at the border and then once at home drove back another 7 hours to dyno it in Edmonton. They actually have quite a few mudraces up there with some big payouts. I day events. Its nice to hear when deals work out in a good way for both parties.

Doug and Dan,

I told Clint he really needed a minimum of a 4500 stall if not a 5500. What were you guys going to run in the car ?

Hey Mark, thanks for the input. When I ran the same cam in my 521, I ran a 4500 stall in my truck. I think we had one spec'd for Dan's Foxbody, and it was about the same.
