I guess there is nothing wrong with starting in the 7.0 index classes.

Heck if it can't run 10.9's then it needs to stay at the house! I just sponsored a race I called "Truck Wars" and almost every truck that showed up for the event ran mid 10's. Atleast bracket raced with mid 10's, daily driven full size sbc street trucks run mid 10's, Gen II Lightnings run mid 10's. Then there is the race trucks that run 9's. Something isn't adding up! Either we have a lot of fast trucks in my area or ya'll have no faith in my build.
My local screen name is "Move" I am trying to get a local truck series going. So when I do have my truck running I might have another class to race in. (see Truck Wars) Probably just run the ODRA from now on.

Sorry to disappoint ya!
Do you care to share on what you believe the minummum material thickness you need bellow the valve relief?
Why do people call it fly cut? I want to called them notched, milled?? Fly cut makes me think of a cylinder head or block decking.

Re: Fly cutting pistions
It's probably called "fly cutting" because before specialized cutters were made, people used a fly cutter in a milling machine.

Over a broad area .150. I've done them as thin as .060 in a small spot where it get thick very quickly.
I'm assuming N/A.

Thanks, Mark!
Lem, thanks for the picture. Surprised to see how far in the valve sits from the cylinder wall. Doesn't apear as likely to cause a hot spot.

What is that giant notch for? Looks like the pistons was used in another engine then turned down to fit into your engine. Looks like you had to have the block notched for that valve.
