A460 Head Question
Is the intake and exhaust valve angle within 2 degrees of oem valve angle? Class rules mandate oem valve angle +- 2 degrees. Thanks for the help.

Re: A460 Head Question
A460
I = 13 x 5.2
E = 9.5 x 5.2
P-51
I = 8.3 x 4.7
E 4.0 x 3.2
Factory
I = 14.5 x 5
E = 15 x 4
Sounds like your dealing with Chevy Rules or should I say rules to favor Chevy's.....

I don't understand the 9.5 X 5 stuff. Does this mean in layman's terms it's 9.5 degree on the intake and 15 degree on the exhaust?

They said we need to have a valve cover off and they have some device that will measure angle off of the retainer and valve stem. Said we would understand it when we saw it lol.

Re: A460 Head Question
I'd ask them for a listing of valve angles prior to going.
Origional Equipment Mfg....... are the Ford Motorsport Aheads?? They are O.E.M......... and you haven't changed the Valve Angles they come with right?

Re: A460 Head Question
The production BBF iron head intake valve has a 14.5° incline valve angle not 9.5° angle.
I think a "Cleveland" intake valve might be 9.5° but, I'm not sure.
The big block Chevy Production intake angle is 26°.
IF they only check the INTAKE valve angle, the A460 head will pass inspection; the exhaust valve angle is more than 2° different however.

So the exhaust angles quoted are correct?

Re: A460 Head Question
make it easier to check the intake ---- dont ask me how to do that now, LOL --- if they give you a hard time i'd argue its the intake valve making the power and the exhaust dont matter type of stuff. hard to believe with car counts like they are at most places these days they would even dare to check.
