Just got off the phone w/Dan. He said he thinks he lost a lifter tonight. Car started missing on return rd.and he took valve cover off and he thinks the lifter may have broke in half. Poor guy,he's having a terrible year. Keep your head up Dano. Its gotta get better, can't get any worse.

This sucks! At this point I am very uneasy about putting my 466 together. It seems like everyone has been getting bitten in the butt lately by their motor. Goon luck Dan, I hope this is the last of the bad luck you've been having. Sad

That is just something that happens with race engines , you take the risk every time you press that pedal. It can be repaired Dan , don't worry about it . Very Happy

If you got no troubles, you ain't racin' or hotroddin'. Rolling Eyes Dan is just racin' more than most. Exclamation Hang in there, Dan-o, you'll turn the corner.

Oh, wait....If you're drag racing, I guess turning a corner would be another bad thing. Wink nm

Frickin lifter broke...looks like it may have lock a wheel and then the cross bar broke and let it spin around sideways and it broke the whole bottom of the lifter off. New set of of Comp Cam lifters this year with less than 50 passes on them.........You just gotta love this shit!!

Is the cam still okay? I hope so, you need as much good luck as possible at this point. Murphy's law needs to quit picking on you. Evil or Very Mad

No ,the cam is history too. You don't break a lifter and save the cam. Gonna be lucky if the bearing are ok. affraid

I figured the lifter at some point turned 90 degrees so it was sideways and destroyed the lobe. I hope that's all that is messed up and nothing more. Have you been pushing your car to higher rpm's lately or something? It all seems strange but from what I've heard you race a TON.
