Oil Hole sizing ( bushed lifter )
first , let me thank the guy who furnished the 460 blueprints, they were of much help. next question i have for some long time BB engine guys, what size to make the oil hole in the bushing, here are related info
A460 block with .082" restrictor in lifter galley.
crane lifters
dry sump oiling - 15" vacuum
I do not want to restrict anymore oil with the bushing, just supply the lifters, and enough oil to keep pushrods happy , and big triple springs alive . I have scavenges in the head pulling oil out . With hot oil ( 175 deg ish) , I have about # 68-70 at WOT , and 55 psi at idle ( pump is driven @ 80%) . I am happy with those numbers, but dont need to loose any oil pressure. It leaves me wondering what size oil hole to drill now, i am thinking somewhere in the 0.080-.125" range . My lifter clearance was excessive on one side before, the bushings should tightne this up to normal specs.
thanks for any future input.

Re: Oil Hole sizing ( bushed lifter )
I have a block that already has the bushings in it, how do I check the size of the hole ?

Real careful... I'd think on could take some wire of known dia. and insert it?
