Uhhhhh.........isn't that what you wanted, a taller crank trigger distributor? According to a MSD Tech on the MSD forum, the measurement from where it sits in the block to the bottom of the housing is 4.35".

i need a tall one -thats all not sure on if the 8580 ? never gutted a dzzy before that all what ever you guys say works im game with that other place doesnt stock the 8377 they mailed me and said they didnt have any 8377

Gerry,
When you gut one for a crank trigger,all that is used is the rotary button to distribute the fire to each wire. Just needs the advance locked all the way.

to lock out a msd, remove spring/weights &bushings. remove advance limit bushing (under weight plae. remove roll pin in collar , pull up center shaft and rotate 180* . push shaft down and replace collar/pin leave pickup in dist. bag the other parts to convert back when/if need

i dont fool around i just tac weld the top so it can not move,
