4.5 stroke cranks fit with no mods and are the biggest readily avaliable, but 4.75 will fit, but are expensive and custom parts. Most blocks will go .080, but sonic check it to be safe.

600 hp is not a problem with big inches and the right part selection with the ford racing scj heads. But keep in mind a little porting on them by a pro will go a long way.

As far as the boss heads, they are definetly streetable and to give you an example our 2008 Emgine masters motor made 705 hp from a 10.5:1 431" flat tappet motor and a single 1050 dominator. Dyno pulls where from 2500-6500 and it would typicaly be pulled down to 2200 and never hickupped or gave any indication of not liking it.

Will 4.5 inch stroke give me 557cu or does it work out smaller then that? Im looking at using a scat stroker kit 4340 crank and H beam rods and i think probe pistons are they goog quality in big block stuff? Also is 600 hp ralistic if i was to use a hydralic roller for the ease of maitanace? Sorry for all the question im new to the big block world here in Australia the 351 clevo is still thein thing and what i run still learning on the big block stuff!

The juice rollers aren't the way to go with the BBF. Bad pushrod angles and real heavy. Better to just use a good juice flat cam or go solid flat or solid roller. A solid flat is probably going to be the way to go if looking for 600 HP. I've got a solid roller making close to 600HP and it is really not bad for maintenance, just check once in a while for lash. Mine isn't a really large cam as such, 240@ .050 and .750 lift. Pulls 18" of vac at idle too. Very Happy

With a .030 4.39 over bore you get 545" with .080 4.44 it will be a 557.

Scat stuff is fine, just check all toleraces before you install everything and make sure you get it balanced.

Like Schmitty has said hyd rollers aren't the first choice in a bbf, but it will work. But the motor will not be very good in the rpm department. Best bang for the buck is a solid flat tappet.

Looks like i will go with the solid flat tappet cam! Is .80 over ok on a big block asuming i have had the block sonic tested? Will it make it run hot by getting to close to the water jackets or is it all good i only ask as with a clevo much more then .30 over is starting to push it and run the risk of over heating and splitting bores! This motor is going to go into my 56 f100 and be a driver not daily but will still do a few miles! Thanks again for all the help guys im starting to learn a bit! Very Happy

With how expensive parts are their, I'd probably only go .030 and give the block a few rebuilds if you intend to drive it alot, and it will still have alot of life left In if you go to sell it later.

+ .030" or .040" is the safer place to be w/o a sonic check .
