And again I fear for his dyno..............my main concern is for it to not get away from him. H'e done a ton of sprint car deals and such and even a few decent BBC's. He has had an uncorrected 880-890 BBC on there, but the first pull will be real cautious lol. All I can tell so far is this things sounds way different than what I had.....and it wasn't a turd. He made the comment after it had run for a few minutes and he nudged the throttle a time or to that it sounded "like a big motor"...............this ain't no high school deal here.

Its an awesome feeling for the thing to bust right off, not leak, timing dead on, etc etc and knowing i put it together with my own hands..............well except the heads which was all Uncle Charlie. I also have to give a lot of thanks to Lem.

Well it was a short session, we did find the limits of his dyno..............


We made a half assed pull just to get an idea of what its got in it, this was not even full throttle and only taken to 6500 at that point he was already coming off the throttle.


955.6 hp @ 6400 and 813.6 tq @ 5700. No tuning, fat as hell on plain alky, 28* timing and by the looks of the plug strap it was fast.

This is the first engine he could not hold, he seems to think it will make over 1000 after we get with the tune up, and prolly not even on M5.........I dont know, thats pretty up there.

Was just gonna take it and tune it in the car but after talking with him a bit he's gonna look at upgrading his dyno when he goes to PRI this week and gets with the dyno people. Told me this session was gonna cost me 8000 bucks lol. Honestly he admitted he never would have thought it this bad ass, but he's a believer now.........and this is the first BBF he has done.

I have a feeling my poor little car is in for a world of hurt............I'm pretty excited right now......... bounce

big congratulations Jon this is the second amazing engine with uncle charlies P51's I was told they were good for a little over 900 hp out of the box when I bought mine. with the right cam profile. you are way over that already with little tuning. Can you share the cam specs? and who profiled it?

Lem did the cam, I wont give specs but lets just say a big A headed deal would like this grind lol.

There are a lot of small details that went into this that I wont make available to the public, but lets just say they all work together and added up are worth some hp.

Jon,

The 813.6 lbs.ft. of torque at 5700 rpm is pretty impressive. I'm thinking you'll be in the upwards of 980 something on horsepower when you can make a full pull. I suspect that Land & Sea dyno is having pump cavitation problems. If there is anyway he can put some more water, or a higher rate of water across the pump it would help I think. Do you know the water outlet temperature from the dyno pump? Does he have a gauge on it?
