double head gaskets
a guy on the fe forum is useing stacked head gaskets to get more valve clearence. is that ok to do? i was just wondering. thanks

i would maybe say on the mls deal maybe .... but that would be scarey on a boosted combo .... and i would say a no, no on the copper deal

Cut the pistons for valve clearance or change the cam timing if it will do so without being to far advanced or retarded. Or get some ultra thick cometics...........just remember the compression will go down.........

Single embossed "shim steel" head gaskets CAN be stacked up to 3 thick.
First ... a shim steel head gasket must be available for the engine in question.
Cometic will make you ANY thickness you want.
Some performance engines in the 60's actually came from the factory with 2 gaskets on each side.
The street 406 Ford FE and 409 Chevrolet immediately come to mind.

I have saw it done on a chevy inline 6 and he drove that thing a long long time like that.
