Racing suits and helmets. Where did you buy from? Did you go bare minimum or go a little over board? If you have to buy custom fit, who you go with?

If you plan on running 9.99 or faster, you need to make sufe you get the right SFI equipment. (Double Layer) Don't skimp out on protective wear....you might need it someday.
I have used RJS Racing stuff for many years....It is good quality, they have great customer service and, it is made in the U.S.A. I buy my stuff from Wesco Performance....they have the best prices on the RJS stuff and can do custom sizes and colors as well. http://www.wescoperformance.com/

As far as helmets...I have a Simpson Bandit that expires this year and I fully intend on getting another one...they are very comfortable.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

Stay away from Impact, they just screwed a lot of racers due to fraud.

Stroud has outstanding customer service, and will make custom suits in just about any classification

I love the Stroud stuff but we just recently spent a lot of money with them and one of the things we bought was a pair of driving shoes. Now Josh, the driver, is a big guy and wears size 14 shoes and we were happy to see they had some that size. The sole fell off within 10 minutes so we called them. They told us oh well. I will still buy chutes and fire systems and other safety stuff but I guess I have to go with another shoe brand.

like that's a big deal though.

That is very unusual Sad Did you have them a long time before you used them? Maybe you should call back and talk to someone else. I have never heard of them leaving anyone hanging. Suspect

I'm not worried they were cheap and we glued them right back on with Gorilla glue. We had them for maybe a week before we used them. Heck, Josh is still wearing them. The rest of the shoe is fine just the sole fell off.

They are still my favorite safety company though. Very Happy

We were going to have to get a custom suit made from them for Josh as he is 6'8" and their off the shelf gear wouldn't be long enough but the Fox Racing stuff was and is very good quality also. Hotter than hell though. The ProFox racing SFI 3.2A/5 two piece suit is what we have. NICE!!

Jones, the sparco stuff is very nice, good quaility. You might try Biondo on that.

Whatabumper, you guys aren't wearing -15 suits?

I actually think it is. I posted the others too fast.

suit 3.2A/15
gloves 3.3/15
shoes 3.3/5
nomex socks, underclothing.

edit: just checked it and it is only a -5. we are getting close to the -15 requirement though. isn't it 7.49 and quicker?

In "N"hra it is. IHRA still understands that a 7.50 fire burns as hot as a 7.49 fire, but may differ for the power adders or where the motor is (front of firewall or behind driver). Racing suits and helmets Inclassable62
