Re: Results from Bowling Green?
Bracket 1 cars ran first time trial about 10am
KY picked it up a little more
60' 1.085
330' 3.225
1/8 5.037
MPH 135.58
George Koewn made a good pass but sorrow I don't remember the time.
Bobby Small ran in front of us and packed the tires
I don't think Damon has made a pass in Open Comp yet this morning.

No, put in another trans and still leaked so he's not running.

Re: Results from Bowling Green?
Guys,
If you remember, Bobby Small was the fastest dragster at the Ford Bash this year with three back to back 4.49 e.t.s, and won the Low Qualifer award. First shot off the trailer this morning and Bobby Small runs a 4.403 e.t. at 155.87 mph on "nothing but motor". He had a .996 sixty foot time. That would have been just under 7 seconds in the 1/4 at about 200 mph. Needless to say, he was "all happy".
So later on in the first round he has a .991 sixty foot time and runs a "on the brakes" 4.44 e.t. at 140 mph. But,,,,,,,,he lost. Only good news out of that run is that it would have been a 4.39 e.t. or better, if he stayed in it.

Re: Results from Bowling Green?
Well it sucks to see Damon and Scott lost the first round in Open Comp.It looks like Damon ran a 9.267 at 143.73 mph on a 9.23 Dial and Scott ran a 10.223 at 129.55 mph on a 10.17 dial.

I can't believe we went all the way and didn't look you up Scott. I probably seen you a bunch of times but never realized who you were. Maybe next year.

First things first. Mark and "scottke" let me apologize for using a part of you're post out of context. My brother, his wife and myself attended the NMRA Finals Sunday. Speaking for myself, it was a waste of money and time! The program was ran, so it seemed, "off the cuff"! A group of competitors would be called to the lanes only to be told to return to their pits. Such confusion! I watched maybe 5 or 6 pairs of the "fast cars", maybe 1 of each pair made it to the end of the racing distance without problems. I did find it amazing, the "fast car" that set the record of 6.5 something, which was explained as the quickest time in the history of the class. Very commendable, although not worth the price of admission! Two attractions of the show that I did enjoy, was talking with friends while looking over some old cars and the Factory Stock competitors with their stick shifts and attractive wheel stands.
As for the rest, it will be a long time before NMRA gets anymore of my money! Oh, I did fail to mention, the steak sandwich I bought. First mistake, opening the bun to see what awaited me. "What the f*c&! Half of my sandwich was fat! I tore the fat away and threw it beneath the bleachers. The fat continued to attract me and every time I looked, it just made me more angry I paid good money for such a piece of shit! As a matter of fact, the more I looked at it the more it looked like a sprawled out frog lying there on the pavement! Mutha f*c&, it's making me mad just thinking about it!
Good night to all, and to all, a good night.
Dave.

Re: Results from Bowling Green?
They bitched about my nhra license being expired , but said you can run but have your license renewed . I told the tech guy its all about the money and I am not getting my license renewed . He said you can't run at this race next year unless you do and that' s fine but he is wrong I can dial 6.40 and run every nmra race out there if I want to
Now the good part , it starts sprinkling and they stop the races , we set there and they say racer's dry off your cars we are getting ready to start back up , but they do not attempt to dry off the track. I have Becca go ask them if they are going to dry off the track. They take the drag down one side (groove) of one lane and send us out there. No crashes but some sideways launching cars one of them being mine .
I catch one of the nmra guys later when they send us back from the staging lanes after calling us up to run and ask him who is was responsible for sending us out on a wet race track and he of course blames it on Dallas's staff . I told him you know my nhra license may be expired and your tech guy said I had to have them renewed , but why in the hell would you guys The NMRA that are so concerned that I have a valid license let racers run on a wet race track ? Is that safe ?
The announcer said dry off your cars why would the track not be wet also ? Your guys the with nmra shirts on motioned us out of the staging lanes not Dallas's guys I have ran here several times and you can't blow that smoke up my ass I know what Dallas' staff looks like . He still blames it on Dallas's staff.
These sanctioning bodies we have now are worried about nothing but screwing their members and fans out of money and back scratching manufactures of seat belts ,diapers, sfi items and making it possilble for them to "force" sell products every few years.
Its just pathetic, thank God for outlaw race tracks that don't adhere to these senseless rules and policies.

Well put. I haven't missed an NMRA race since they have been coming to the Bend, but I might next year.
Plus, I'm really tired of running OC.
