Is a 1050 enough to feed a 514?
Just like the title says. Will a 1050 be OK or will I need some more carb?

a 1050 Dominator will work fine, you can alway swap some boosters to get some more air later.

Ran an out-of-the-box 1050 Dom. on a 514 iron CJ headed motor for years. It was a great carb, never touched it after getting it tuned in.
Motor has been 5.84 in a 2800+ chassis car.

Lem...please be careful...us injected alky guys are kinda sensitive. We have jets too!
Remember...alky is not just for drinkin'!

Fabio, who won the Jeg's quick championship.........a guy with injected methanol or a girl with gasoline carbs? Seems there is more than one to skin that cat
Re: Is a 1050 enough to feed a 514?
I rekon if they switched fuel systems the outcome would still be the same.............i doubt her win was dependant on the use of a gas carb...........

Gas or Alky,Imo if you are a good tuner you can win either way.

Re: Is a 1050 enough to feed a 514?
no sir , a big single alky carb will not hold a light to an injector as far as performance , they may be a little more consistent if they are within a workable cfm that works correctly because they are "self correcting" to an extent.bbf-falcon wrote:Gas or Alky,Imo if you are a good carb tuner you can win either way.
The fastest piston driven engines on this planet are injected and no one can argue that.
