Just like the title says. Will a 1050 be OK or will I need some more carb?

a 1050 Dominator will work fine, you can alway swap some boosters to get some more air later.

Ran an out-of-the-box 1050 Dom. on a 514 iron CJ headed motor for years. It was a great carb, never touched it after getting it tuned in.

Motor has been 5.84 in a 2800+ chassis car.

no sir , a big single alky carb will not hold a light to an injector as far as performance , they may be a little more consistent if they are within a workable cfm that works correctly because they are "self correcting" to an extent.

The fastest piston driven engines on this planet are injected and no one can argue that.
