KY JELLY wrote:You gas preferer's want to compare q-16 (which is oxidized with a chemically changed methanol additive) to plain old alky , that is fine I am not afraid to and am willing to do an on track test back to back q-16 to alky.
The fastest are an injected certain % nitro and alcohol , the #2 quickest are injected alcohol ,
The quickest gas burners are carbed by the rules and the engine are designed to be maximized on gas because the rules say specifically gas no methanol .
I only ran one carb at a time , but I got 3 sitting in storage
I'm not feeling afraid today either.........just let me know and I'll show up with a gas carb. And no, I aint going to Mississippi

"You do understand"
You'd be surprised what I understand
Put some 4.56/1 gears in it so we can get 60"-330"-660"-1,000"-1,320".

Aint no way for you know what I'm thinking ....you a mind reader? It's been said that one should never say never......never is a long timeKY JELLY wrote:I know what you are thinking the rpm is going to kill the methanol on the big end , but I have picked up 2 solid tenth's with regular methanol by the 1000' clocks with this high speed leanout , and that q-16 will never 60 with methanol.
This is what I am thinking........if a guy[s] gonna go to this much trouble it be nice to learn all that could be learned.
BTW......I remember your face being that pink but I don't recall your nose being that long and hairy

I agree, but an engine is going to have some characteristic that is the reason it runs better on one particular fuel , be it rpm or what ever. I know I don't know what you do , but what I have learned is still in my little bird brain to be evaluated and reevaluated. My mind is open whether it seems that way or not.;
green oil and m-5 will make hair grow on your nose

Re: Is a 1050 enough to feed a 514?
considering that a boss 302ci,or a 429ci engine could be had with a dealer installed 1050, or 2 1050s for either,and holley made the dom for ford ,yes for ford, before the add was run in hot rod mag to NAME THIS CARB with a pic of what is now call a dom, maybe we should asking is 1050 big enough?
for this combo, id want it a little bigger
should just send the 1050 off to prosystems and have it set up
does anyone know what the 2nd choice for a name was?
elephant quad was no#2
