Hey Nick,

My T-Bird doors are 12" from the ground when open. I have stock front end with 1 coil cut and small front tires. Hope that helps you a bit.

Okay makes since. When i had an open trailer the door would not open until I mounted a 3 foot long piece of 2x12 where the back tires sat on the trailer. That was a heavy duty trailer with 16 inch wheels.

May sound dumb but would it be possible to make it so the trailer fender would be removeable? I think Doug's trailer is like that. Something along the lines of quick pins or something. That way you could go with the cheaper or better liked of the two? Just a thought Cool

That's true Boo Boo, another reason I said Featherlite is the best bang for the buck when it comes to open trailers. Takes about 5 seconds to remove a fender Wink . And since it's all aluminum it doesn't rust and I don't have to paint it, ever! It will be around long after I'm gone Laughing Laughing Laughing .

Nick, another option - my chassis guy welded a pair of risers to the deck of the trailer for the front wheels of his Maverick. Don't know exactly how high, probably 3-4" (ramped up from the deck). Cool part was it made loading alone easier by allowing door access, and also a gauge where to stop the car when driving up for the placement he wanted.

I didn't get to the car last night but I would have to guess 10-11" but I may be off. I really don't know.
