fuel getting to motor but not starting
i have a 1997 250 with only 67,000 miles on it. i went to pull it in the shop today to change my tires. pulled it in and i went to move it forward some more and it wont start. it cranks fine just like it should but it wont fire. i know its gettin gas cause the pump runs when you turn the key and you can also smell fuel when you get done crankin it. we took the cap off the injector and its shoots fuel out fine. at first there weren't no spark but we tried again and there was. still nothin though. its all stock and im new to the 460 so any help would be real good. thanks

Re: fuel getting to motor but not starting
Sounds like you got it flooded, try a new set of spark plugs. Reason: When the unleaded swill they sell as gas today coats the plugs it's almost impossible to dry them off. Being "wet", they short the spark to ground. Alternatively, after you get them out, blow dry them and let them sit for an hour or so...preferably in the sun. Reinstall and as long as you are getting spark you should be good to go. DO NOT PUMP the gas pedal!!! javascript:emoticonp('')

you can't flood EFI by pumping the fuel pedal . holding the pedal to the floor helps if flooded . (clear flood mode)chuck stevens wrote:Sounds like you got it flooded, try a new set of spark plugs. Re: fuel getting to motor but not starting
Check your coil if the spark is weak I had one on my 69 when hot the spark was weak and wouldn't crank it was like a red spark unstead of a blue spark and also check coil wire it might be bad.the coil is where your spark comes from.hope this helps.
