new to site and fords

hello everyone. i am new to fords.i just got a 79 stang with a 466 with dove c heads (i dont have a clue what they are) and a powerglide with a 4800 stall in it.i will be asking alot of dumb questions.i hope the ford guys are as helpfull as the other guys are.

no i dont know about the heads being ported.i will be going back to the guy i got it from saterday to pick up the stock hood (it has a pin on fiberglass hood) i will ask him if the heads have had any port work. are the dove c heads any good?

As far as factory heads go, if you can't find a set of super cobra jets those are the next best thing. Set up right, Doves can run low 10's and high 9's

Welcome to our site. We will help in anyway we can. Sometimes we squabble among ourselves like we really hate each other, but we still help each other when needed. The DoveC heads are a very good low budget head that is capable of 700hp after modifications and the right combo. Stock they will accept a 550 lift cam and w/valve guide trimming alot more than that. Ask all the questions you like.,there is alot of knowledge about the bbf on this site.
