Re: electric waterpump on street
you prob wont believe me, but, I am using the 99 procomp pump....comes with backing plate, and fitting for hose in the box...
I am not the only (56tbird) uses one also......
I am using mine on the street right now with absolutely no problems keeping the car cool
Just check the gasket for the main housing(ie add a touch of rtv around the oring) and use just rtv red to seal it to the backing plate instead of the orings they supply

Sorry for the guys that ignored your question.Dave Maxwell wrote:what is a good electric water pump for limited street use. Going to start getting the little stuff
The electric pump is lighter, and does not run when not needed. The higher end ones push more GPH than stock, if you need that.
Looks factor in also.
All in all, you are best off with an aluminum mech pump, unless you want to drop some dough for the kewl factor.

Back too the original thread question, I too agree that a good alum.mech pump would work best imo, for street use.

Obviously spoken by a man who has never been divorced! One way or another, you are paying for it!
