Second thoughts on race platform Empty Second thoughts on race platform

I've been thinking about which car I want to make into my serious street/strip vehicle and would like some input from you guys. I don't have a specific time goal or HP goal, just certain build aspects. The platforms that I have at my disposal are a 72 Gran Torino parts car, 72 Gran Torino which I'm currently working on making my daily driver, and a 79 Ranchero that is my resto-mod project in waiting. Both Torinos are formal roofs, but the one that I'm currently working on is a formal roof sport. The Ranchero I had originally bought about 4 years ago as an untitled parts car for a 72 Ranchero GT that I had at the time, however the body is in too nice of condition for me to bring myself to pulling it apart just for parts and I intend to put it back together as well as swapping out the nose for that of a 76 Elite and dropping in a 460.

My engine goal is a 12:1cr, d0ve headed deal which will be fed e85 for the drastically increased octane over available pump gas. The parts I already have are a d1ve short block builder, d9te short block builder, 1 pair of d0ve head builder cores, and 1 victor intake with a dominator pad.

I know this is rather disjointed and rambling but I figured I should get my thoughts out there and see if anyone can make heads or tails of it and help steer me in the right direction.

Thanks guys!
