Carb for new combo will i need a dommy yet ?
Just wondering if my 950 hp will be leaving a lot on the table and if its time to step up to a dommy carb. My new combo i'll be starting this week is a 472" using scj heads (thanks Lem) unported with just the intake valves backcut (thanks Charlie), diamond flat tops, victor 4150 intake the cam is a custom solid flat tappit 260-268 @.050 637-648 lift, trans is a c6 with a 4000 converter,390 gears with a 28x10 slick and its in a 84 mustang hatch that should weigh 2625 with driver it was 2725 with iron heads and big 11' converter. Any ideas would be great thanks ,Bryan.

Since you have a 4150 square bore Victor,,,,I'd go with the 950 HP carb and a 1" spacer. either the Jomar piece or the HVH deal. If you want to run a Dommy, then covert the carb pad to a correct Dommy pattern, and run a Dominator. I do not like the idea of using the 2" tall Moroso adapter (4500 to 4150).
Most all Victors can use some work (help) up in the area of the carb pad. Tootsie roll blending and radiusing into the top (or roof) of the runners.
Hope this helps,
Uncle Charlie

Thanks for the info i really didn't want to buy a dominator and new throttle bracket if not needed at this point and i do have the 1'' hvh spacer to try with my 950 hp, i also have a custom aed hp 4150 ported to 1030 to try from a friend sitting here and Melvyn(514fox87) said when its up and running i can try his new custom built pro systems 1000hp to try as well. I cant wait to start on this motor as its been almost two weeks since i picked it up from the machine shop. It figures i had no work while its at the machine and balance shops now thats its done i got work popping out of my eyeballs which is a good thing i guess (gotta love the drywall business) its always feast or famine in this trade.

use the short adapter 5/8 for a dom,and blend it,it needs work at the top anyway
