started on my 80 coupe stang, this will be the last build i will do with my g-pa , he is on his death bed, barely getting around, he had a fast straight 6 back in the early 70's late 1960's, so we are building a cool 306 ci straight 6 ford, ,with 6.79 long rods , (240 rods), fully ported head..,13-1 compression, alum intake, looking for a roller cam for it, i can get a new one for 900.00, pretty nasty 6 banger, it will run high 11 to low 12. range, i am shooting for 12.00 so i can run the local 12.00 index class, these motor make a lot of tq , with a 3.98 stroke

Yep started my 98 Mustang project. It will be getting a 545 and hope full easy 9s maybe 8s. Stop on over to my build thread and check it out. Its in the proven builds section.

finally got the mazda leaving the line a little straighter got the 60ft time down to 1.15 ran a best time of 5.44 at 126mph letting off. waitin on egt kit to tune carburator should have it down in the low 5's. first full pass with the alcohol

Pulled the rearend of the 67 because I rolled the supposively h.d. moser perches , and install a pair from calvert racing. Also pulling the 521 to shave the shock towers, because I am tired of wasting 2 hours to change the plugs.

I will be starting my P-51 headed engine in the next week or so.................... Have everything but the cam, lifters and push rods.

I will also upgrade my glide with a J-W case, 8 clutch drum, and a good 1.80 straight cut planetary gear.

Also, gut the door bars, remove wiper motor and heater controls.

Install after market lightweight front disc break set up.

Add wheelie bar, and parachute.

Maybe bigger tires..................

Got to keep up with the HeRo. You have to use your head and be smart if your going to go fast on gas and a carburetor................

Converted the front drums to disc brakes yesterday on the Fairlane.

Well been trying to find the motivation to go out and port my second set of heads, will be going over that pretty soon. Mostly buying parts and dealing with setbacks. Gonna go to the local picknpull and get a new short block for the sons truck so he can start on the body work after we get the motor in, figure that will keep him busy till he can drive it legally. Spent the weekend putting struts on all 4 corners of the wifes van and doing an oil change, maybe that will keep her of my back for a while about all my car parts. I feel like some on here with that automotive ADD.

Well I finally got the new 598 installed. Ran into every issue you can think of but that is usually the way it goes. Headers are build and installed, extended the travel of my brake pedal and replaced master cylinder, installed a new rack and pinion along with new tie rods. I added a driveshaft enclosure on the car. I also installed a new Stroud Pro Stock chute that will be air launched (nitrous). Been pretty busy the past couple of months on the car.

Drained Alky and put gas carb back on race car and parked it. Backed off valves, set on jack stands and moved it to the far bay in the shop. Pulled my son's 66 coupe into the middle bay for work this winter. It's a real piece of work, every panel to be replaced...welded in passenger side front frame rail patch, and front crossmember Friday. Front suspension is being removed,replaced. Have a disc brake set-up to replace the drums on the way. Gonna have to just start at one end and bite off little projects at a time.

I also managed to roll my stocker spring perches on my 9" and they got replaced with something serious. Braced the rear end while it was out. Pulled the BBF and had it refreshed. Its now a 552ci @ roughly 13:1. Got the headers ceramic coated. Bolting it all back together now. All fresh and pretty... ready to make some power.

Considering converting to alcohol before spring.

Been slowly gathering parts for the dragster I picked up from Mike. Hope to start cleaning parts and start mocking up the 514 that will go on this week. Hope to have it running before the end of the year. Also been helping a friend swap drivetrains between 2 Mustangs. Both are SBC powered though.

I also plan to find some time to finish the cage on my Mustang as well...

I would like to just be with in a reasonable drive of my car..... so i can do something !!!!!

Still needs John Holmes pushrods, green oil (and teeth), stud mount rockers, and gas ports to qualify........

Very nice Dawg.

I cleaned and painted my block today. Also got the pistons and pins cleaned. Filed the rings earlier this week. Tomorrow I'll clean the crank, bearings and rods and start the assembly process. Hope to have it in the dragster some time next week.
