Would you recomend a squirel cage for a 9 sec stang????

If it is a dedicated race car then yes you should have one. Is it required, no.

A purpose built race car needs a full cage if for no other reason than a more stiff/rigid race car will react more consistently to HP and suspension changes pass to pass.
