I think it took them 6 weeks on my friend's dad's box from leaving his door and back and he said it cost him ~$70+shipping. That was a 6AL so it will probably cost a little more for your digital box.

It was something like 6-8 weeks from when I sent it to when it came back. MSD refurbished it and sent it back like new, don't know where there place is but it might take less time if you are closer.1Bad91 wrote:BigBlockRanger wrote:Also double check your dial is set for 8 cylinder engines (should be #2 on the dial or #6 of you are using the 20° start retard)

I did some more research and I think I may switch over to a digital 7 set-up. Any opinions on this?

Re: Motor has No spark?
I sent an MSD 6AL box back to MSD for repair, got it back after a couple weeks, put it on the shelf as a spare. It sat there for a year as I rebuilt / refurbished my car. When I reinstalled it (all of my original connections were still in place, so there could be no mistakes in the install), but as soon as I hooked up the 12 volt wire - it went up in smoke, and emitted a loud "snap". MSD insisted that I wired it incorrectly, I reviewed the wiring - it was correct. MSD wouldn't make it good as it was over a year (warranty). That was my first, and last experience with sending anything back to MSD for repair. Was it a "fluke"? Probably. Did I wire it up wrong? No! For what it's worth.

Digital 7 offers a lot of tuning options via a laptop once you have downloaded the MSD software. It's what I'm going to run in my junk.....

Talked to a X275 Radial friend of mine and he told me the MSD 7531 is the way to go. Expensive but the stuff you can do on that thing is amazing. More spark output and features are amazing. I may save up a few weeks and invest in this one.

The ability to tune each individual cylinders timing can be quite beneficial. That's only one of the advantages, but it's a good one.

I think I read on the bullet that the 7531 was going to be discontinued.
