Re: 2011 Bash?
Yeah, trying to ask everyone about a date is kinda like asking what ET the heads up class should be.

May 14-17 NMRA Atco NJ
May 20-22 Good Guys Nashville, Tn
May 21-23 ORSCA Alabama International Dragway
June 3-6 Goodguys Colorado Nationals
June 3-6 Carlisle All Ford Nationals
June 3-5 NMCA Mechanicsville, Maryland
June 4-11 Hot Rod Power Tour
June 11-13 ORSCA Atlanta Dragway
June 15-18 Hot Rod Reunion Bowling Green, Ky
June 24-26 Goodguys, Rhinebeck, NY
June 23-26 NMRA Jolliet, Il
July 18-24 Mustang Week, Myrtle Beech, SC
July 22-24 Car Craft Summer Nats
July 22-23 NMRA Milan, Mi
Looks like May 27-28 for a Friday/Saturday deal would work out looking at the events that are scheduled. No matter when it is a few toes will get stepped on...
You may want to check the good guys events might not even be having drag racing, they dropped alot of venues.

April or May is good for me and a few others from MO. June's already booked and July is too hot.

When I was at BG last fall the guys were saying they pack the trailers in there as tight as they can get them there are so many people. I wonder how early you need to plan that event or can you just show up last minute?

You got to pre-register by May31st for HHR. It is packed wall to wall. You'll never see so many cool old cars anywhere.

Re: 2011 Bash?
If you plan on staying in the campgrounds ,you'll need to show up about a week early to get a good spot. There's only 500 camp spots.Ask Chuck and his parents. They said they're going down the weekend before this year. They got there on tuesday last year and almost didn't get a spot . The race track ,you need your credentials before you arrive.jasonf wrote:bruno wrote:

Re: 2011 Bash?
I'm not sure on the car count, but I will say this...it's a great race, and the people there are the best you'll ever meet!! The best thing is it's all Fords at the Bash!!

Re: 2011 Bash?
The HRR is 4 days long and if you are not in the racing the last two days then a trip up to Windy is easy. AND, those going to The Bash can get there a few days early and "spectate" at the HRR beforehand and see some of that event without actually being in it.
Re: 2011 Bash?
So, are you saying have the same weekend ? Racing is friday and saturday at HHR this year. Same as the Bash. You'll loose racers , but that's Phillip's call. I know of at least 3 that will be at HHR. I want to run both races,I hope it's not the same weekend..

Re: 2011 Bash?
Then have The Bash the weekend before and maybe get the best of both worlds but, it's like I said, "it's all about priorities" and which events are more important to all the specific Ford racers.
I guess we all know where Dan stands... LOL.
Other weekends are goona cause other conflicting problems for other people also so, everyone's gonna have their OWN priorities.
"You can't please ALL of the people ... ALL of the time" however, "you can please MOST of the people, SOME of the time". It's all about figuring out THAT time.
Hey DAN, just curious ... how much money have you won at the HRR anyway...?

Re: 2011 Bash?
I've payed my way every year at the HHR with my winnings. That's fine Randy if you want to have it the same weekend as the HRR. I'm not sure how much input you have on the date..But as to answer your unasked question..I will go to HRR over the Bash if I have to choose.I hope it doesn't come to that, but you seem hell bent on trying for that. So ,I say go for it!!

Re: 2011 Bash?
If any of you guys are sitting on the fence as to whether to go to the Bash or not, let me just say: GO! You will not regret it! A long way to travel? That just means you'll be more welcomed when you get there.

I wish I could, but my new engine is still coming together so the budget won't allow it this year. Depending on what happens later this year, I'll be back 2012 or 2013. What I really want to do is bring my own car, but that's probably a pipe dream.

Re: 2011 Bash?
As a racer that has brought my car to every bash and collected a (small) check there, I can say with a mixed bit of uncertainty that the bash will not be the same weekend as the Hot Rod Reunion. Being local this race carries much more weight than a far off race ever could
Besides that I have a WWII reenactment that always falls on that weekend!

Re: 2011 Bash?
I see a lot of suggestions for early in the spring...my vote would be for later in the fall. It might give some of the guys who do not have their cars ready a chance to get them ready. Either way, I'll be there....with MY car this year and not a borrowed one...lol.

Thx Dawg,Both me and Dan can't wait to meet you also. That Probe will fit right in at the Bash. I'm sure Phillip will keep those two races seperated. Actually if the Bash were too be the week before the HRR it would work out fine for me,I would stay over at Dan's until Wed. then head down to BG.

Re: 2011 Bash?
That would work really well Rick. I just hope we can make both races. They're my 2 favorite races every year. I'd hate to have to make that choice!!
