Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
The ranger will be getting a 92 cid upgrade to a 552 might take alittle longer than planned on for this new engine build over the orginal plan on the 466 but that is fine. The 552 will be easier to meet my hp level of 700 and not work the engine as hard for less maintenence in the long run.Just need to keep working the OT so I can finish buying the rest of the parts I need.

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
Got a new CSR Flex plate this week if nothing changes before next weekend I will be heading to SC I will be carring the rotating assy, and block to the machine shop.I will be ordering the comp roller lifters and comp timing set in the morning. That will leave just a few thing to order to be able to start putting it together when it get back from the machine shop.Still need to find a good rear sump 9qt oil pan before buying oil pump for I will know witch pump I need.I need head gaskets, valve springs more than likely new pushrods oh ya new timing cover the one that was on the engine broke from a crack that was in it.

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
I have the crank,pistons/rods,cam,and timing set installed in the block waiting on oil pump.I ordered a new pump and pickup my wife picked it up for me today while I was at work. She dropped it off at work to me I pulled the pump out it was a front sump oil pump with the front sump pickup and the pickup tube I ordered was right it for the rear sump.I order it for a 94 f250 with a 460 in it from Advance Auto plus the oil pump someone has already used a grinder on it the mounting holes are rounded and not flat from grinding.

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
The 4.30 gear is in,new u joints in, working on the brake system now trying to get some better brakes on it before I turn it loose and do some tnt passes. The engine is ready for the alky just need to put the alky carb on ran out of time today working on the brake system.I finished off one of the brackets that holds the hold the cal on 1 of the holes stripped out where the bolt that the cal slides on. So I decided to go ahead and put the RX7 rear disc set up I have on it plus it alot lighter than the linc town car set was on it.I got to get the center of the rotors milled out to fit over the axle tomorrow good to have a friend with bridgeport and a lave close. Then get everything lined up and bolted on and put the new MC on it and get the brake working good. Then a burnout

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
Engine is strong but having some fuel problems it starts leanng out just above 5000 rpm called ADP he told me a few things to check if that don't work sending it back to them to be freshen up.He will go thro it and set it for my engine he said it sounded more like it might need jetting up a few sizes. He wants me to start at 188 and go up to 192 jets so I will order some new jets and try to jet it up to see what happens.
Don't remember right off hand what size I have in it now but they are what ever was in it when Jon had it.
