1 good thing about it being small can't put to much junk in it if I am going to have room for the Ranger. As long as I can keep my daughter and the wife out putting their stuff in it I should be ok. But I can fill it up in a hurry with riding stuff my self with two 4 wheelers, golf kart, dirt bike, riding mower, and extra engine parts, Now I got to build a spot to keep my all the riding stuff before long.

Got the shop done enough to use it still got some work to do on it but can wait until I get the truck done with the trans swap. Order the sleeve for the hub on my converter, new trans yoke, and trans mount as soon as it comes in. I can get the trans mounted and get measurements for the drive shaft mine will be about 4'' short. I going to move the rear end up about 1 1/2'' to get my tires centered in the wheel whale I moved it back when I installed the drive shaft that was in it to save from having it cut 1 1/2'' off.

Lookin Good. You can never have enough shop space, when I built my 40x60 shop in 2000,I thought id never need more.Well guess what, I have it full and have a 45' semi trailer out back full also.I'm moving to Florida in a couple of years so i'm having a big auction before that to get rid of a bunch of stuff.

I got the trans in all except trans lines got to redo them a little plus clean the trans cooler good the trans I thought was 4'' shorter was 7'' shorter. I got the rear tires centered moved the rear end up looks a lot better plus add more room for bigger tires later on now got to reset the 4 link but that alright. The new shaft has to be 64'' long so I will just get a custom one made not a junk yard one moving up to 1350 joint as that what the new yoke is for.
Here is a couple pics of before and after on the rear.
and new trans

I have to bend the bracket a tad it was late that night and decided I would I get it when I fixed the shifter it is still set up for the c6 got to change it for the 2 speed plus drill a hole for the trans mount bolts. I am going get back on it this weekend and finish everything on the trans and see if I can get the shifter to work right . I got the Pro Ratchet I was told I could put a screw and nut where 1st gear is and it will work on a pg if it don't work to my liking I will more than likely by a new shifter and keep this one for my 69. I am ready to see what it will do for sure but want to make sure everything else is up to the task.

I tried flip it, then it put the eye to close it has more holes in it but the 2 I used is only ones that fit the pg I could bend it mounted but rather take it back off and put it in the vise it needs some paint anyway to keep it from rusting.

Call B&M I have the Pro Ratchet they told me I didn't have to change the gates to make it a 2 speed all I had to do is move the low gear stop pin up to the next hole and remove the pin for the ford park position. If I would have got my papers out that came with the shifter and read them they tell you how to change it to a 2 speed from 3 speed. I got it working dead on with each shift of the shifter just made a couple mods to the bracket got everything lined up good. Now waiting on my yoke for the rear end to get here to carry to the machine shop to get my whole driveshaft assy balanced he wanted both yokes to balance it all together he marking everything so when I put it in it all matches up. Getting the 3 1/2'' .083 mild steel with 1350 joints built and balanced for under $200 and this guy is only 16 miles from me.

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
While I am waiting to get the driveshaft Tuesday I decided to try to figure out what scoop I want to go with I got to cut the cowl out for a primer plus I got the one Rick pulled of his it looks ok but still looking at a few different types. I hate to cut the cowl and hood but no room for the primer plus system and spacer under the carb.
Here a couple of pics with Rick's old one sitting on it

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
Got the trans swap done today got my fuse panel installed, sold my 1150 gas carb going to buy a primer plus system from Ron's to go under the Alky carb. Went today and bought a sheet of 3'x6' Lexan for the windshield hope to get the windshield out in one peace to use for a pattern, going by the parts stores tomorrow and see if I can find a cold knife to cut it out with. Got to have some extra room under the hood got to cut the cowl and into the windshield era a little so time to change the windshield out. As soon as I get the Lexan and primer plus do it will be time to see what it will do. I almost tried it out today but decided to leave it on the jack stands for now about out of race gas and didn't want to change to alky carb yet.

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
just a few updates done with the cutting for the carb and windshield changed out now trying to decide on which scoop to use I got a 69 Mach 1 scoop I like the looks of but not sure it will help with air flow over the 4'' cowl. One thing about the aluminum food it is easy to cut with a skill saw

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
I got the primer plus installed and finished today man it will put the heat in the engine on about 1 1/2qt of pump gas 93oct instead of 3 to 4 gals of alky. So that is about $1.50 worth of gas instead of $10 of alky. I am going with the cowl scoop got it painted today the wife wanted to see how it looked with the scoop painted so we put the frontend back on so she could see how it will look. I put a couple rivets in it but hold it in place until the paint cures out some more.

Hopefully in 2 weeks I can get off work to carry it. I am the only 2nd shift maintenance man right now got the 2 guys off 3rd shift coming in early to help me out some but right now nobody to cover my whole shift.

Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
As up to right now it ran the best time and my personal best ET 6.41 at 109.77 in the 1/8 last Saturday night on a slick unprepped track. I think it will get down to low 6s on a good track and a little more tuning. This was the 1st outing on the new combo with no tuning but air pressure so I am happy with it. I need to up the limit on the trans brake to 5000 or 5200, tighten the shocks up a tad, and might have to get some new slicks if so I am going 31x14 or 32x14. Thinking about putting a 4.86 gear back in it also and just run 1/8 mile just depends on how it does on a good track.

New personal best 1/8 mile 6.19 @ 111.86 1/4 mile 9.79 @ 138.79 I am happy as the track didn't have a lot of prep leaving spinning a little.
