Daaaang Rob. If your truck launches like that, you just may be changin' your shorts.

I wish my truck was that light. I'm betting that he is close to 1000# lighter than what I have.

Talked to Randy and the block is out getting the lifter bores opened up. Decided on a few different components that we are going to use, like the water pump and oil pump. Hoping to see this thing run on the dyno in April.

Sounds like we're heading to Mike Phillips shop in Philpot KY for the dyno session. You are welcome.

Not sure, Randy was doing some checking on what had an .800 wheel. There are several good companies that make lifters, so it's what fits the bill here. Maybe he'll check here and chime in.

Comp .904
I was just looking at the Comp site and they list them as an "Elite Series" but only for a 351w are they coming out with a BBF model or can you use the 351w model on a BBF block ? Some very good features and listed at around $970 or so a set off Comps site.

Talked to Randy today and it sounds like it's going to be Comp's "race" series lifters with a .903 body. They come with an .820 wheel which is what is needed. Had to have the cam sent out and the exhaust side reground for a better lobe.

It's a good deal.....even the .875" stuff has a bigger wheel....... .785" vs the .750".schmitty wrote:Talked to Randy today and it sounds like it's going to be Comp's "race" series lifters with a .903 body. Re: New 604" bullet for the truck
Talked to Randy again last night and the engine is coming along. He has the heads assembled, with the new Ti intakes, and has the rods there. The rods were some custom made rods, done by a company that Barry Robotnick recommended to him. Cam is done and has a new lobe profile on the exhaust side. It's coming together quite well.

Raw 4340 forgings were from China and machined in the U.S.A. to a non-common over all length.
