No c-head yet. My current engine was set up for N20 but I don't want to go that route now. Plus it just ain't enough motor. So I'm just gonna run it while I work out the kinks of the new car. None of this will be until next year at the earliest so time is on my side to make a good plan.

from what I have read A heads are legal for power adders, and C-heads are only legal for n/a... I dont see how a C-head n/a stands a chance against an A head and what ever the biggest BBC head they allow blowin a 5-700 hp single stage fogger.

A C headed motor NA should be a pretty mean combo i would set it up to turn some rpms, maybe now an 9200rpm screaming big block should be able to run i would copy a prostock motor use a 7531 for launch and see what i could do a 1400hp C headed motor should be possiable with a single carb, either a Dale Cubic or something special. and cam, Lightweiht crank rods and pistons, and some really high end parts should run good. special attention should be paid in the valvetrain and the overall design of the motor i would deffeinatly get with somebody that builds the prostock motors. and see the flow on the heads and parts that are used in similar brand x motors

Look into a progressive.....you can't do it all with the 31 Boxgryphon68 wrote:
You have plenty of options to manage launch power with the 7531.

Re: Opinions on BBF build- X275 Car
so why wouldnt a specific head program work for this class ....meaning a larger surface area port vs. more velocity , so you can fill it up the chambers with more nos , compare to your standard 1000hp bracket head ........ if you look at the dyno on my 562" /edel heads the torque is not a x275 buster ....... just a thought

I am not a head guru, but i thin nick is on the right track you really need to take in the consideration of flow vs velocity to get a good combo. these cars should run in the 470-490 range this year. do the math on the HP to run that fast, turbos 3300lbs, nos 2950, NA 2800lbs and all on a 275 radial. we have several of the cars that run in this class close to me. one has the sbf NOS fastest pass 4.97 another has the fastest MPH turbo car, also a SBF, there are so many options to go it is hard to nail down the perfect combination because therre is not enoph enoph on people running the BBF to have a killer set up. I will be watching for these combos this year while i finish my new motor.

Just getting started back up...been researching alot of combos and I think narrowed it down to A-460, big bore/short stroke. Will have definite plans and pics within the next several days.
