Looking to build a 501 A-headed engine for X275
Well looking to build a 501 A-headed motor to run in x-275 class. Already have the short block just looking for ideas on who to go to as far as heads or if anyone has any forsale? Looking to try to get around 1,000 hp if possible?

How competitive do you want to be? Local? National?

Cam and intake are important. Headers need to be huge. Carb is key too unless you want efi and then we could talk you through that if interested.

Well looking to try and run 4.70-4.60's with a 3,000 lb car. Got to still build headers and all. Most ppl in the class have 588 bbf but trying to squeeze all I can with what I have.

I usually deal with Kasse on cams. Anyone else recommended?

So are they building long stroke engines or are they shorter stroke with a bigger bore kinda like the NHRA pro stock engines?

I doubt there are many if any 2000 hp engines in X. We build a lot of x stuff and I can tell you this. Plan on making over 1000 real horsepower on motor (1050 or more would be nice) and plan on a good nitrous program.

Haven't been able to get on here much lately due to my new job, but ive wanted to try X275 as well. Would more cubic inches benefit better results if one were starting out from scratch? Im into looking at doing a 545 set up. Whats your guys thoughts if you dont mind.

Had a long conversation w/Jim Kuntz (Kuntz&Co.)@ Fe race. He just Dyno'd a Big bore short stroke 538 w/Aheads that made 1150hp w/800+ torque .Had a cast single 4,Didn't say what Carb or Gas was used.

2.13 that is a very exclusive Neighborhood
1150 with 538 is 2.13 HP / Cu in
Not many even make claims in the low 2.0 or high 1.9's
Nice. I am guessing there was a lot of cam
and that was a fairly high rpm motor.
Impressed!
