Engine Diapers?
What brand of engine diapers are you all using? How hard is it to take the engine diapers on/off to change your oil?
Thanks for your time

Stroud. 7.2 Sfi. Just drop the front strap and pull back a couple of inches and expose your oil filter then push the bottom back and expose the drail plug for you guys with the wet sump. At the worst it adds 10 mins to your oil change.

Re: Engine Diapers?
I have a DRE on mine...nice quality piece and Dennis was good to deal with. Fit is ok on mine but, I had a custom piece made and, if I would have known then what I know now, I would have changed a few things....nothing they did wrong though. Like Thunderstruck said, it doesn't add much time to your oil change, once you get used to it.

Dre also with fire proof sides for header clearance, mine were special made, but this year I see they are offering them.

DRE on mine also. The fit and amount of trouble has alot to do w/chassis. Mine is about as easy as it gets, because it's all wide open underneath. (Non) chassis cars w/shock towers are alot more difficult.

Re: Engine Diapers?
DRE here in a non tube chassis fox. About as easy and nice a fit you can get with the limited space. Like has been said, 10-15 minutes added for oil changes.

Re: Engine Diapers?
Can you send me some pics off the pan Nick? We may try to go that route with the new engine. If its too much trouble, we may just get another DRE made up. How do you like it over a diaper?

Re: Engine Diapers?
I have used DRE and Stroud in the past. I loved the fit and ease of install/removal of the DRE. I had the Stroud on when I push a rod out of the block. It contained all of the parts until I got to the shut of road and then a rod cap melted thru the side. But, it did not drop any oil on the track or allow any on the rear wheels at 180mph. :/
I am going with a carbon fiber pan for the dry sump set up.

Re: Engine Diapers?
I guess I have to have one for the street bracket at my local tracks major event, don't know what I'm gonna do about that. May just get a cheap one to pass tech, if it were a full on race car I would understand and I would get a good one. But not for this!

Re: Engine Diapers?
Thanks for all of the replies. I think I will give Dennis a call for one of those customs diapers, because I have very little room between the pan and steering linkage/crossbar.
Thanks

I take it you did'nt have the liner in it when the rod burn't through it. Mine has a fireproof liner.

The liners don't cover the sides, when mine came apart, I thought I had top end problems, ntil it set for a week, I looked under it and the oil was barely coming through, nothing on track return road, dre is a good product, I.M.O.

Installed as per Stroud instructions. Harold is right, the cap melted through the side.

Speaking of cheap ass, have you seen my girlfriend, thats cheap.
Oh yea, if any of you guys plan racing Kil-Kare this year, anything faster than 6.39 in 1/8, 6.99 1/4, must have a diaper.
