IDT 1400 Series Head and upgrades
The 1400 Series head is developed for a smaller bore or a lower RPM engine. They flow over 515 cfm (intake) on a 4.500" bore using a 2.500" intake valve. These heads can be used on a 4.440 bore (0.080 over) and a stock 460 block (10 bolt pattern). A 2.45" intake can be ordered if desired. The exhaust valve is a 1.72" and flows over 350 cfm. We have maintained a common valve centerline for the 1600/1500/1400 series heads. This allow someone to upgrade from a 1400 to a 1500 series by re-CNCing the ports/chambers. The same exhaust, valvetrain, intake and valve covers can be used. The 1400 Series head sells for $6700. If you have any questions, drop me a note or give us a call.
Thanks,
Jay

Is this amount for a set of fully assembled heads? What valve material? What springs? What size are the chambers? What intake?

Jay,
Which head would you recommend on a 4.530" bore? The 1400 series or 1500 series?
Thanks Frank
Found it.... 1500 series is 4.600" and bigger

4.530" Bore
Frank,
The engine displacement, rpm and usage will all play into the discussion on cylinder head selection. My general recommendations for a NA engine with a 4.530" bore would be the 1400 Series head. For the 4.530/4.560" bore, I would consider using a larger valve (2.520" or 2.540") with a slight increase in the bowl area. Un-shrouded valve area is directional correct for horsepower. If the engine will be significantly boosted, I would consider going in a different path with a larger exhaust valve. It's sometime difficult to answer general questions without knowing all the engine parameters. I usually like looking at air velocities with tuning points for the desired engine configuration.
As for the valvetrain question: The camshaft, rpm valvetrain mass usually dictates the spring selection for most heads. We generally use a LSM 700A/700B or a PSI 1200 series DR spring and titanium retainer with a titanium intake valve (dependant on valvetrain speed) and a stainless steel exhaust valve. Completely assembled add $2100. Any other questions, please let us know.

What is the chamber volume and what intake manifolds are available? Thanks for all of the info Jay.

Chamber Volume
The chamber volume is 78 cc's (flat valves). The deck face is thick and can be machined to reduce the chamber. I am planning on taking a scrap head and seeing how much we can machine the chamber. my thoughts are we could get into the mid to high 60's cc range. As for the intake manifold; the only manifolds available currently are custom fabricated. We are working on a casting (tunnel ram) but that will not be available until later this year.
Re: IDT's new 1400-1500 heads?
So these heads are basically about the same as a max effort set of C's with the ability to use on a smaller bore and have less shrouding. Jay do you have any flow sheets that can be shared with us?

Flow numbers - 1400 and 1500
The 1400 Series (smaller valve - 2.500") head with a 4.500" bore flows 510 cfm and the 1500 Series (larger valve - 2.600" intake) flows over 610 cfm with a 4.700" bore. I am updating the website to include all the flow numbers and more pictures. Hopefully it is running by the end of this week.

Jay,
What is your website? idtracing.com or eliminatorproducts.com.
The link in your profile here does not work.
Thanks Frank
BTW at what lift are the flownumbers that you posted?
