Painters how long will acrylic enamel last in the can?
I have about 3/4's of a gallon of acrylic enamel left from when we painted my car in 1996. I plan to repaint under the hood in the next few weeks. What are the odds that it is still usable? If its not dried up can I use it? If its risky I'll just buy some new but if its usable it would save me a few bucks and I wouldn't have to try to get it matched.

enamel is ok if it'll come out of the can.lol.i've done it and had no trouble with it.used some imron on my 86gt that had a scab on top, just pulled it out with a paint stick and used it.old clear coat and cats that go in it are another story.

If it'll stir up ,it'll be usable. I've got some that 20 years old that I still use when needed..

Like Dan said, it'll last a long time if it's been sealed good and not had any hardeners or been thinned. If it's stirrable, just take it to a hardware store and have them shake the snot out of it. I've done it with alot of them, and it works fine.

Or you could throw it in the bed of the truck and drive around Detroit yep that'd do it
