Compression Question
How much static compression is to much? I currently have 14.5 to 1 and have heard anything more than 15:1 will cause problems what do you guys think?

Re: Compression Question
Kinda depends on what you're burning and what you're doing with the motor. Kid's motor is 15+...runs fine.
Re: Compression Question
My TFS Headed 557 was at 15:1 ran 114 fuel no problem, tuned easy also.

Re: Compression Question
Mr Stevens I mud race(fast track) so 100 - 125 ft normally up to 150 ft ocassionally go thru at least two gears passes generally less than 3 seconds hopefully around 2.3 to 2.5 seconds long. I have to run gasoline but can use any octane I've been running 112 the past couple years. Motor is an iron headed 495 it is detailed in engine builds.

Re: Compression Question
IMHO, with iron heads, I think you're fine right now. What do the plugs look like? how many runs do they last?
Re: Compression Question
Thats been an issue been running ar-134 they last about 4 races and they were black(we down jetted 4 sizes and didnt seem to help changed air bleeds also), switched to ar-135 recently and they look much better light tan in color and color change on the electrode is middle of the curve.

Re: Compression Question
Ar-133 with 14.5/1 and iron heads ...if any issues it'd be jet and timing or ing..
